Most Frequently Asked Questions:
Q:
What is the purpose of the Great Adventure: Celebrating a Lasting Legacy campaign?A: We are now close to entering our 2nd century of reaching the lost in our area. As we celebrate this lasting legacy we find ourselves faced with challenges. Just as generations before us willingly met similar challenges and relied on their greatest asset – their faith in God, we too are beginning an aggressive project to meet the needs of LA and beyond that will leave a legacy of inspiration, sacrifice, and faith. This challenge is our next wave that God has sent our way.
Q: How long is the campaign?
A: Our giving/commitments are spread over a three year period.
Q: How will the money be used?
A: The money we raise will go to pay off our $975,000 loan from Church Development Fund, that was obtained in order to facilitate the purchase of housing for pastoral leadership for today as well as for future generations. It also addresses other pressing facility needs necessitated by our growth which will include upgrading our sound system with new technology, nursery upgrade, work needed to the education building and new youth and children’s equipment needed to minister effectively in these growing areas.
Q: When will I make my pledge?
A: We will gather together as a church family on Celebration Sunday, September 21st and make our pledge.
Q: Will I be asked to make my commitment public?
A: No, nor will your individual commitment be announced.
Q: When do the commitments start?
A: We begin giving toward our three year commitment on First Fruits Sunday, September 28th.
Q: Can I still make a commitment after September 28th, 2008?
A: Yes. You can join us in this project anytime over the next three years.
